Complete Garment Design and Production From Start to Finish

ECHOMCORP in Middletown, NY, meticulously creates clothing and other textile products from start to finish. Our garment production service includes the design process, fabric selection, pattern-making, sample creation, and mass production. The design process involves creating sketches and technical drawings of the garment, selecting colors and fabrics, and creating a prototype. Pattern-making consists of creating a template for the garment, which is used to cut the fabric. Sample creation involves creating a test garment to ensure the design is functional and aesthetically pleasing. Mass production involves cutting and sewing the fabric, adding any necessary details such as buttons or zippers, and quality control checks before the final product is shipped to retailers or customers.

Our Garment Design and Production Process

  • We accept artwork from our customers, or our graphics department can create an original design for you.
  • Depending on the style of the garment or article, once the customer has approved the artwork, we create a pattern. A pattern defines the panels or components of a specific article. For example, a man’s button-up shirt could have left and right front panels, a back panel, and two sleeves or have additional features such as a collar, no collar, or puffy sleeves.
  • Once the pattern is complete, a sample of the article is cut and sewn from the pattern. This is usually made from a material similar in weight to its final material. It is typically undyed and sewn with all the details and is fitted on a model or a dress form to assist in alterations.
  • Once the garment sample is completed and corrections have been made, the garment will move into production. The production process can be big or small. The fabric for the garments or articles is spread flat on a table and cut with scissors or a large cutting tool called a table saw.
  • The cut fabric and other materials, like zippers and buttons, are moved to the sewing process.
  • Depending on the style of the garment, we use various machines, including single-needle machines, overlock machines, and specialty machines, to assemble the garment.
  • Once we have finished sewing the garment, it is moved into the cleaning phase, where all loose threads are snipped, and the garment is pressed and prepared to be shown on exhibit or packaged and shipped to its receiver.
